What is Ketamine?

Discover the transformative potential of Ketamine, a legal, safe, and effective medicine employed in treating various mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, and PTSD. Known for its rapid-acting antidepressant and mood-enhancing effects, Ketamine initiates change within 1-2 hours post-treatment, with benefits lasting up to 2 weeks. Operating by blocking NMDA receptors and stimulating AMPA receptors, Ketamine fosters the formation of new synaptic connections, reinforcing neural circuits that regulate stress and mood. Its capacity to enhance neuroplasticity ensures enduring symptom improvement. At Growth Accelerated Therapy, we exclusively use the sublingual lozenge form of Ketamine, offering a personalized approach for optimal well-being.

How Does Ketamine Feel?

Experience the transformative effects of Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) in a safe and supportive environment. The pleasant effects of ketamine, lasting approximately 45 minutes, create a unique opportunity for introspection and perception shifts. While the experience may temporarily reduce motor and verbal abilities, our dedicated team ensures your comfort throughout the session. Following this period, we provide ample space for you to process and discuss your insights. Although articulating the experience may be challenging, patients often report clarity in the insights gained. Studies highlight lasting benefits to mood and neurological growth for up to two weeks post-Ketamine experience. Embrace a journey towards healing and self-discovery with the guidance of our experienced clinicians.

What is the Cost of Treatment?

At Growth Accelerated, our Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is exclusively offered through therapy intensives, with each session spanning 3 hours. Our clinical hourly rate is $400, and the KAP process involves a minimum of three essential meetings: The intake and preparation session ($1200), the KAP session itself ($1200), and the Integration Session ($1200). For a comprehensive initial KAP package, which includes a total of 9 hours of therapy, we offer a bundled rate of $3000. This package is designed to provide a cohesive and transformative experience, ensuring dedicated time for preparation, the KAP session, and integration.

Please note: We prioritize transparent and accessible care. While medical intake and follow-up sessions are not covered by insurance, we are pleased to inform you that our services may be eligible for out-of-network reimbursement. Our practice is dedicated to providing the necessary documentation to support your reimbursement process, ensuring that you can access the comprehensive care you deserve.

Take the first step toward healing.

Learn about the initial stages of your therapeutic adventure.

At Growth Accelerated, your therapeutic journey with Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) begins with a comprehensive initial consultation. During this virtual meeting, our prescribing partner will assess medical eligibility and explain etc. This session can last from 1-3 hours. If deemed eligible, the medical staff crafts a personalized Ketamine prescription and outcome monitoring plan.

Upon receiving your ketamine lozenges, Dr. Joy will schedule preparation sessions, aligning on the process and setting intentions for the upcoming KAP dosing sessions. The actual dosing session, lasting 1-2 hours, will be held remotely via telehealth. You'll self-administer the ketamine lozenge, guided by Dr. Joy, ensuring a comfortable and supportive environment.

Post-dosing, Dr. Joy will hold multiple integration sessions, allowing us to review and process your experiences, preparing for subsequent sessions. You will also receive follow-up consultations with our prescribing partner’s medical team so that we monitor outcomes and ensure timely ketamine lozenge refills, tailored to your unique treatment plan. Your journey towards healing is guided with care and expertise, ensuring ongoing support and optimization of your KAP experience.

FAQs

  • At Growth Accelerated, we prioritize your safety, and we approach the potential risk of addiction to Ketamine with utmost seriousness. While it's essential to acknowledge that no substance is entirely without risk, we want to assure you that the risk of addiction to Ketamine is generally low, and we take comprehensive measures to minimize any potential risks during your sessions. The therapeutic structure, combined with the accompanying support, provides a secure environment to prevent overconsumption and help individuals feel in control. By carefully considering and navigating the process under the guidance of Dr. Joy, any potential risks are significantly mitigated. Your well-being is our priority, and we are here to address any concerns you may have throughout the Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) process.

  • Choosing ketamine over traditional antidepressants and psychiatric medications stems from its unique capacity to act as a catalyst for the healing process of both your body and mind. Extensive research suggests that individuals on long-term antidepressant regimens may experience diminishing benefits due to factors like diminished neuroplasticity, placebo effects, medication plateaus, and serotonin overload. In contrast, ketamine promotes neuroplasticity, facilitating the decompression of serotonin and regeneration of dopamine. Notably, 80% of research studies indicate that individuals undergoing the standard treatment, involving six Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy sessions within 4-6 weeks, over a two-year period, have reported reduced reliance on antidepressants. Many find that periodic 'tune-up' Ketamine sessions every 6 to 12 months suffice for maintaining their well-being. It's essential to consult with your healthcare provider to determine the most suitable approach for your unique needs.

  • As a clinician specializing in Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), it's crucial to acknowledge that, like any therapeutic intervention, KAP does carry potential side effects. These can include temporary increases in heart rate and blood pressure, dissociation, and nausea during the session. Some individuals may also experience mild headaches or fatigue afterward. It's important to note that these effects are typically short-lived and resolve on their own. As part of our comprehensive approach to care, we prioritize thorough screenings and ongoing assessments with our partner, Journey Clinical to ensure the appropriateness and safety of KAP for each individual. Your well-being is our priority, and we encourage open communication throughout the process to address any concerns and optimize your therapeutic experience.
